From the Superintendent

It is the mission of the Bolton Public Schools to provide a safe, engaging, and challenging environment in which all students develop essential skills and values.  The Bolton Public Schools Strategic Plan for 2015 – 2020 is our road map and builds on past district successes while facing new systemic challenges head-on.  The Strategic Plan outlines the core values, beliefs, and student outcomes of the district. We believe:

  • Quality education is an indispensable community investment for the future of students and society.
  • Quality education is a partnership that requires commitment, communication, and collaboration among the student, family, school and the community
  • All students are valued and have the right to an education that meets their academic, physical and social/emotional needs.
  • It is important for students to recognize and value excellence.
  • High expectations and shared accountability are essential for the success of each student.

Guided by our Strategic Plan, we sought input from all stakeholders to develop a shared vision regarding the attributes that matter most for future graduates of the Bolton Public Schools.   The collective vision of the learner, known as the Portrait of a Graduate, defines the qualities and attributes that we expect all Bolton students to develop in order to be successful in college, career, life, and as global citizens.  Our Portrait of a Graduate can be found at https://www.boltonpublicschools.com/pog.

We are proud of the many achievements of our students in academics, the arts, and athletics and encourage our students to discover their individual talents and interests through participation in our extracurricular offerings and community service experiences.  Our outstanding team of administrators and faculty in the Bolton Public Schools is committed to engaging in collaborative work with families to continuously improve our efforts focusing on challenging and supporting our students. Our schools foster an environment focused on respect, responsibility, and compassion for others to maximize academic engagement and achievement for all students.

The Bolton Public School district is proud to announce that Heather Warner is the district’s 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year.

Heather Warner is a Grade 8 Language Arts teacher at Bolton Center School.  She began teaching in Bolton in 2003.  Heather is an exceptional teacher. She has a good understanding of middle school readers and writers and helps them grow by using current methods and creative approaches to her lessons. Her lessons are always well planned and engaging.  She spends a great deal of time reviewing student work and providing comments for her students to grow, which results in her students achieving a high level of understanding.  Heather has worked hard adopting mastery based learning approaches to her teaching and student learning and making sure her students are prepared for high school.   She grows professionally by attending various workshops, reading educational books, keeping abreast of new research and teaching methods, reading the current middle school literature, and sharing her new learning with her colleagues and students.

Heather also shows excellent leadership efforts by leading the middle school book club, grade 8 fundraising, spelling team, and is an 8th grade co-advisor. She is a supportive colleague and always willing to go above and beyond the call of teaching. She has an excellent rapport with the middle school students. Congratulations Heather!
